Olde Forge provides a wide range of community support services for seniors in Ottawa.  The services include Footcare, Day and Luncheon Programs, Home Help and Home Maintenance and Home Visits.

Please Note: To help support the city of Ottawa's physical distancing restrictions, the Olde Forge has modified and enhanced some of it's programs and services at this time.

The Olde Forge Programs provides barrier-free, low cost recreational and physical fitness activities, social and educational programming to local seniors 60+ and adults with disabilities who want to maintain their independence in the community by keeping socially connected and/or keeping physically active.

There are a wide range of activities offered during the week at a variety of locations.

Fitness, Social and Creative Programming $40 / month

Includes access to ALL Recreation Programs (in-person and virtual)
** Additional charges may apply to certain outings and craft projects
Community Support Services
Home Help $30 / hour
2 hour minimum
Includes: General housekeeping services (cleaning, vacuuming and laundry) as well as simple meal preparation

Home Maintenance

 

Grocery Supports

$30 / hour
1 hour minimum with 30 minute increments thereafter

 

$10 (online ordering support and delivery)

Includes: Minor repairs, odd jobs, window cleaning, ongoing lawn and garden maintenance

 

 

Snow Removal

 

 

 

$25 / hour

1 hour minimum with 30 minute increments thereafter

Accepted Payment Methods Include: Cash, Cheque, Credit Card or E-Transfer.

Clients are referred to vetted snow contractors and/or can use a 1 time snow removal with the Olde Forge

Living Healthy Champlain

Living Healthy Champlain provides a centralized program in the region to improve coordination of and access to self-management supports, programs and resources for people with chronic conditions, and training for healthcare professionals supporting patients living with chronic conditions.

Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre

The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre offer general caregiver support groups and support groups specifically for caregivers of individuals experiencing dementia-related disorders.

Hospice Palliative Care Ontario

Care Channel

 CareChannel is an online portal that provides FREE resources to family and community caregivers. Among many topics, our practical skill guides tackle tricky tasks such as How to Maintain a Catheter or How to Help Someone Shower, and our self-care tips help caregivers stay positive and prevent burnout.

All the tools and resources are available in 5 languages: English, French, Punjabi, Spanish, and Mandarin.
